Do you want to engage your customers into remembering your product or service? Craft a tag line...
According to the Oxford dictionary, a tag line is "a catchphrase or slogan, especially as used in advertising, or the punch line of a joke."
Tag lines are memorable; they are engrained in the minds and hearts of the customers and consumers, because they offer an insight on the solution to their problems and needs.
It is important then that there is a lot of though put into writing an exceptional tag line. It should be based on the values of the company and the story behind it. Moreover, it needs to appeal to the customer or market, because your tag line describes your promise and the benefits of the product or service. Your tag line is your brand, who you are. Think of M&M's tag line of "It melts in your mouth, not in your hands" . It advertised a promise of a less messy chocolate treat than others available on the market. It posed a benefit to those mothers that had to face the clean up of chocolate smears.
It is important to know your market and customer when crafting tag lines, more so if you happen to be targeting products and services for other cultures. Their views, beliefs and behaviors play a huge role engaging with your message and ultimately your offer. Cultural diversity creates new dimensions, so marketing messages become enriched and powerful, because when you take into consideration the new cultures' view, you are deepening the understanding of your own business.
